Subtitle position on screen

Hi, i´ve been trying to move the subtitles on screen (with a 106" screen they are too down) but i can’t find how to do it, i’ve tried the mpv.conf and transcoding but it doesn’t work either, is there any way to do that?

Thank you

You may have to remux the container file with handbreak, ageissub or
something similar to change the position of the subtitles.

There is currently no way to position it in the Xbox application, only change the size.

On a side note, where are you editing mpv.conf? This has nothing to do with the Xbox application (which doesn’t use mpv). MPV is the player used by Plex Media Player (PMP).

Are you suggesting other player apps can?

No, simply stating that the Xbox app cannot.

I don’t personally use subtitles very often, so my knowledge of there workings in other apps is like not as good as those that actually use them. Best to keep the information specific to what I am aware of.

I didn’t know it, i thought that mpv is used by the transcoder

So the app can’t move subtitles then it’s possible to move it in transcoding or it’s the same thing?

That I don’t know. I’m not sure why MPV would be used by the transcoder since it’s video player (PMP uses it as I stated earlier), Plex uses ffmpeg as a basis for the transcoder. You might get more hits regarding that question in one of the Server sub-forums however, since this one is dedicated to the Xbox One client.
