I’m using Plex on my Mac and generally playing it on my Roku or the Web Player—and I’m a novice who appears to be totally unable to get subtitles to sync.
I have many videos with .srt subtitles muxed, and while they all play perfectly on VLC, Quicktime, and other players, the subtitles are never in sync on Plex—either the Web Player or Roku.
I have tried suggestions here: changing the settings to always burn in, etc.—to no avail.
Is there some reason that my files which play with subtitles synced in every other player are always out of sync with Plex—and how do I remedy it? Oddly, they used to play fine, and suddenly stopped syncing a couple months ago.
A side note, posting separately to avoid complexity/confusion:
I’ve tried installing the Sub-Zero plugin, which downloads an .srt file and places it in the folder with my videos. Those subtitles sync perfectly—but they play in the dead center of my screen, not in the bottom. I’ve tried posting at the Sub-Zero forums, and have been told the issue is my Plex configuration, which doesn’t make sense (since they’re being played differently than the muxed .srt subtitles).
And, weirdly, when I mux the Sub-Zero downloaded .srt files with the videos using Subler—they play in the correct screen position but totally out of sync when I use VLC, Quicktime, etc.
