I downloaded subtitles for “Sein Letztes Rennen”. I got the DVD as a gift.
Anyway, the subtitles seem to be maybe 15 or 30 seconds behind the actual speech.
It is a .srt file. Is there a way to add some time to the subtitles without editing every single line of the srt file?
I believe there’s some online tools to help with that.
however… it might be easier to actually use a subtitle that matches your video – what about the VOBSUB included on the DVD? e.g. MakeMKV can automatically include the original subtitles in a MKV container; it’s a little tricker when it comes to MP4/M4V containers as those don’t officially support image based subtitles (as far as I could figure this out) – however there’s some tools supporting OCR to convert those image based subtitles into SRT
I looked in the DVD but there was no obvious file name. Should I look for a .vob or .sub? Windows 7 does not show file extensions though.
you can e.g. use MakeMKV to rip the DVD as MKV file which can include the original DVD subtitles. Alternatively you can e.g. use Handbrake to rip the DVD and keep the original subtitles as well (requires MKV container). There’s no named files on the DVD you can copy and paste.
