Subtitles Are Unstable

Server Version#: DSM 7.1-42661 Update 4
Player Version#: PMS 1.25.5.5492-7000
I don’t know much about subtitles except I need them. Our new Synology NAS has been up and running for about 9 months and we haven’t having any issues with English subtitles. About two months ago subtitles started disappearing near the end of the movie with my Samsung UHD TV and at mid-movie on my Samsung Q900R.
We had no changes in hardware, so I suspect something is wrong with Plex. I made the mistake of customizing posters and attaching subtitle files Plex was unable to find. I know I should update the program, but I hate to lose all that work. Is there something I can do to minimize the damage?
I think this is a common problem and probably not the first time you’ve seen it. I just wasn’t finding good info on addressing this dilemma.
I’m definitely open to any reasonable suggestions and welcome the input. I’d love to hear what others have done to solve this problem.
Thanks!
P.S. My NAS was about 58% and I went ahead and purchased another drive. Now I’m at 38%.
My 920+ shipped with 4GB of RAM and I was thinking about buying and additional stick. I’m not sure how that benefits a NAS that’s just a movie and file storage server. We do have up to three Hi-Res Smart TV’s hooked up on our wired network.

There were several subtitle fixes in the latest Samsung app releases.

Check that you are running the latest version, 5.45.3.

Verify the current version of the Plex app on your Samsung TVs. The information is visible in your list of Authorized Devices.

The Plex Samsung app should auto update when launched. If it does not, then delete it and re-install.

Release Notes:

Nah the problem still persists @FordGuy61 just check here Subtitles Disappear on Samsung Tizen (50Q80A) - logs attached - #7 by Deme74 plenty of people with the same problem on Tizen and latest version.

5.43.3 fixed it for me. Seen two movies and several episodes without subtitles disappearing.
I’m on Tizen 2.4.

Plex has a complicated relation with subtitles, I’m not surprised there are still problems.

Your TV is 2016? I can assure Tizen 4.0 (2018) and 5.5 (2020) are having issues…

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I really appreciate the help. I didn’t know the TV needed needed an update. Our TV’s are all Samsung and the oldest is 2019, I’m pretty sure it’s Tizen 5. Our 2019 Q900R 8K 75" is the one that has the most difficulty, subtitles start disappearing mid movie. It’s running the latest Plex Ver 5.32.1 Updated 8/24/2022
I have another Samsung TV in my office and it’s a 2019 49" UHD Series 7 and it fares better than the 8K as it just drops subtitles right near the end of the movie. It’s running Ver 5.46.1 and that was also updated 8/22/2022
I don’t understand why this problem suddenly appeared about two months ago. We got Plex Pass late last year and subtitles played flawlessly on both TV’s for months.
If we’re running the latest versions I really don’t know what to do next. We have four TV’s on our network and they’re all hardwired. The other two TV’s are newer Samsung and they’re having the same subtitle difficulty as the 8K, dropping subtitles early in the movie.
I thought maybe there was something I could upgrade on my Synology 920+ but this seems to be a Plex only problem that doesn’t get along with Samsung TV’s. If there were a 3rd party solution it’d be beneficial if it could be network wide.
