Plex (1.20.0.3133-fede5bdc7_amd64) totally “confused” with subtitles availability when Optimized Version is present (I have optimized versions in a separate folder but should not matter). That produces 2 issues:
Steps to reproduce:
Subtitles are present in the folder with the original series (and subtitles are “correct” and playable by Plex, will later expand this);
In subtitles dropdown in web front-end there are no subtitles;
There should be the corresponding subtitle taken from the folder with originals - first issue
Second issue:
When I select “Search” from subtitles dropdown and (successfully, checkbox is present near subtitles name in download manager) download subtitles and get back to the video screen in subtitles dropdown nothing adjusted (so I could not sellect any subtitle in dropdown, it states “none/search/upload”)
I expect freshly downloaded subtitle for the video to be present in the “subtitles” dropdown.
Additional information:
- scan library does not help
- adjusting permissions to 777 for both optimized and original folders does not help
- subtitles are downloaded into the original folder with bazarr (possibly before optimization, that might explain next line)
- srt files are only partly present in the optimized versions folder
- copying manually srt from original to optimized folder and renaming them accordingly makes subtitle appear in subtitles dropdown as “Unknown (SRT external)”, then subtitles are shown successfully with the optimized version.
Here is the screen of file structure (which illustrates that subtitles are different for optimized versions and originals):
So:
- I would expect subtitles to be “synchronized” between original and optimized versions on library scan stage
- Internal subtitles downloader seems to not able to add subtitles for the optimized version
