I’m not sure if this is a server issue, a player issue, a default subtitle issue or what. I need some guidance on how to look into this. Just about every single show I watch has subtitles delayed by approximately 20 seconds. One thing I’ve noticed is that if I go re-select subtitles while the show is playing, they frequently re-sync and are then timed correctly.
Server is a Windows 10 box
Player is an NVIDIA Shield

Which subtitles are you using? If you have sperate files ending with .srt next to the video, you can check whether the timing is correct right there. If your subtitles are included in the video itself, you can either try to play it with VLC on your computer and check if they are correct there (recommended) or you can extract the subtitles with a tool like MKVToolNix and, again, check if the timings are correct.
