All subtitles are off by 5-10 seconds

When playing through the windows player all subtitles are off by 5-10 seconds. If i use my android, browser or nvidia shield the same subtitles are played correctly. This has been happening the past few weeks on literally every single show/movie that has subtitles.

the offset option is either disabled or not even visible depending on which file i’m looking at. but no offset should be set unless there’s some global offset setting somewhere?

What is the maximum offset?

Did you enable HDMI passthrough in the player settings?
Did you create a custom mpv.conf file for this player?
What is the signal flow from computer to speakers (how many and which devices in between)?

Dial the “video quality” preference downwards and/or toggle the “hardware acceleration” checkbox in the player’s settings and compare before/after.

This did it. I lowered the video playback quality from “make my gpu hurt” to “ultra quality” and that seemed to resolve the issue. Strangely, putting the the setting back to where i had it did not re-break it. But either way, it’s working now. Thanks!
