I have the same problem.
- Audio Transcoding (EAC3->AAC)
- Chromecast with Google TV
- But I used external SRT
A similar problem occurs with smartphone.
- Android
- Audio Transcoding (FLAC → MP3)
- external SRT subtitle
- Only sentences with an output time less than 1.0 second are skipped.
A temporary solution is to burn-in the subtitles but this need to video transcoding.
Does this have anything to do with it?
In my case, PLEX server divided the video into 1-second segment for streaming.
(ffmpeg option ‘-segment_time’ ‘1’)
I think this seems to have something with subtitles disappearing too fast or skipped (less than 1s)
