Subtitles I've downloaded don't appear

My PMS won’t show subtitles I’ve downloaded and placed in the correct folder myself. I’ve always made sure to use correct name formatting e.g. “1917.mkv” with the subtitle “1917.en.srt”, but when I then go to do a scan of the library files, the new subtitle won’t show up. I also tried removing the “.en” format, but that doesn’t work either. After a while (a couple of days), the subtitle eventually shows up. What can be causing this?

Make sure you have Local Media Assets enabled and then refresh the metadata instead of re-scanning the library.

FYI, instructions say:

  • Ensure Local Media Assets is topmost in the list

That is not required.

I was sure that was checked. But under Agents>Movies>Plex Movie it was unchecked for some reason. I’ve never had the issue before a couple of days ago, so I guess I’ve unchecked it by accident at some point. Thanks!
