In the last couple of updates the subtitles on TV Shows recorded from DVR are no longer showing up. I checked settings and under Agents found the OpenSubtitles.org had been deselected. I could only force it to remain checked by adding and removing additional languages in the settings screen.
On a website i read that to add in subtitles i should select the TV Show and select Refresh Metadata. However this does not add the subtitles back in.
I was a bit slow installing the update before last (FressBSD) and can’t remember when it was added. I can see one episode of a show from 28th Aug with subtitles and the next one recorded on 3rd Sept with no subtitles.
I performed my investigations today with the latest server build (1.8.4.4249).
I thought so too when it stopped for me (or was very inconsistent ~8 months back) … and I tend to like things clean and “stock” but after setting up SubZero I’ll never go back.
Thanks Peter, Sub-Zero is running now and proving subtitles. My content is coming from DVR so tv/film may start some minutes after the recording starts. I’m finding the subtitle are ahead of what is playing. Any idea what to do?
Sorry for late reply. Sadly, I have no answer to that. Could you crop the recordings? Could you alter the subtitles? If you find a way of doing it manually that suits you, perhaps some one in here might help you make it automatic.
This still isn’t working. For some programs subtitle exist that are in sync with the broadcast so must have been successfully recorded at broadcast time. I’m using a HD HomeRun which has two channels so am wondering if one is working and the other not. Is that plausible? This would explain the inconsistency.
