Subtitles not appearing on Chromecast after update

Hi!

After the last Chromecast app update, subtitles disappeared for most of my movies / tv shows. They were all embedded subtitles in mkv files. This is just so frustrating, I only bought my Chromecast because I couldn’t use the KODI Plex addon for exactly the same issue.
In the browser, all subtitles are displayed correctly.
