Hi guys,
Im facing a problem with Plex… All the time that i want to watch a movie i need to manually “Refresh all metadata”, otherwise subtitles are shown as “none”.
As you can see this is very frustrated thing because I want to whatch in my tv, and i need to come to computer to do this.
Any ideas how can I fix this? Subtitles (.srt) are with the same name of the movie in the same path…
This problem occurs in any platform, even in Plex Media Server… Subtitles show as “none”, then i click in “refresh metadata” and it pushs all srt files :\
Is your media storage on an external or networked location and not inside the plex server device?
If so, DISABLE ‘Empty trash automatically after every scan’ https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289526-library/
Re-evaluate the future behaviour after a few days if you toggle the butler tasks
‘Refresh local metadata every three days’
and
‘Perform extensive media analysis during maintenance’ https://support.plex.tv/articles/201553286-scheduled-tasks/
Keep your media storage and your plex server running during the server maintenance time window.
Because refreshing could trigger a subtitle download by SubZero, instead of showing you your locally stored subtitle files.
Also SubZero has some very advanced options which if set incorrectly could mess with the expected default behaviour of Plex and external subtitles.
Go to
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, does the line ‘Local Media Assets’ have a checkmark in front of it?
If not, click on it to activate it again.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
