So i sync’d a couple of movies off my server but they really require subtitles to get the whole story but u cannot for the life of me figure how to get subtitles to download. All setting both app and server have subtitle options to be available for all media, but this only appears to be for online viewing. Any help would be appreciated
Is the right subtitle track already selected on the item’s preplay page when you trigger the Sync?
The sync will only use what is already selected.
yeah i’ve tried doing this but they still dont download with the media file
They are supposed to get burned into the video picture.

Are you triggering the sync or is it from another user account?
Those audio and subtitle selections are per-user.
im syncing them from my server to my main account

Did you clear the previous syncs before activating the subtitles and sync again?
Doesn’t sound weird but unfortunately i have tried this, so frustrating lol
Unsync the videos again.
Make sure they are gone.
- activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
- quit Plex Server
- wait 1 minute
- start Plex Server
- wait 2 minutes
- pre-select the subtitles in the web app. start the sync
- wait until the sync operation is signalled as finished, then wait another 3 minutes
- fetch log files and attach them here
