Suddenly my media server won't launch

Server Version#:1.44.0.2981-e2d72ac2
Player Version#:I don’t know where to find that information

Windows 10 64 bit
I have another server(Windows 11) on the same account and that one isn’t launching either. It’s also not working on Roku and it says unautorized when I try to find it on there… I have had my account for about 7 years with no problem. I used it that morning on my Roku and then when I went to use it that night there was nothing. When I try to access my media it keeps asking me to “get plex media server” but I already have it. I have completely deleted the server and the player as well as delete my main computer from the authorized list. Now I cannot add it back as a server, it just shows up as an authorized device. Can someone please help.

1.44 is the desktop app player version not the server version

If you see the server running in the task tray of your Windows computer, can you go to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web and see if anything loads?

I just see the home screen.

Will anyone help me?

That means you probably have an unclaimed server. If you login to http://127.0.0.1:32400/web it should claim the server for you. this can happen if the server gets logged out.

This only took me back to the plex home page and nothing changed. Am I supposed to do something?

Im having the same issue. Im on a Mac. freshly installed Plex Server App, but not able to access 127.0.0.1. I get an error message unable to connect.

Can you access the settings page of the server?

I was starting to feel that I was the only one.

I can access the settings and see the server.

That means the server is running

Ok. Now what?

Not sure your question, if you can access the server settings that means the server has launched and is running. What else do you need?

It is not on the Plex home page. The message on the home page states that I need to downlaod the server even though it is installed. The second server is not recognized as well as on Roku. I need help to get it working. I keep getting random answers but nothing that relates to what I am talking about.

Did you recently had a change in your home network or at your ISP?
Did you add some kind of “internet filter” or “security software” to your home network or computer?

What you are describing is usually resolved by forcibly refreshing the server authentication token, as in this procedure: Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support
(Keep in mind that this will only work well if you are using a regular web browser without browser add-ins and no VPN or other software which interferes with networking.)

I changed my internet provider way back in December. I recently added Kaspersky Security Cloud to my Windows 10 laptop but it has been on my Windows 11 laptop for over a year.

I will try the procedure mentioned and thank you for trying to help. I hope this works.

I did an IP address check at whatsmyipaddress.com and their IPv4 is different from what’s on my laptop. Also, I tried the registry changes and no change. I still can’t access my server.

That doesn’t play a role for this issue. It is only relevant for remote access. But we are accessing it from within the local network.

The registry changes are only the preparation for the following steps. It is important to execute these exactly as noted.

Anti virus software is kinda of a “moving target”. It changes all the time because their manufacturers are updating them almost daily. So something can indeed suddenly change, without you knowing about it.

I went back to see what steps I missed from the article and now I can access my server. It needs to be claimed but when I click claim server nothing happens. I also installed Version 1.26.1.5798 manually because it wouldn’t install automatically, but it’s not showing the updated version of the install and therefore I cannot claim my sever. Any ideas?

Sorry, I don’t get this. Because you don’t see the updated version you cannot claim the server?
