We can spike TV/movie filenames with the IMDB ID to aid matching. It would be great to have the same ability with music artists and albums. With good tags, Plex usually finds the match… But not always. Putting the match in the filename means you won’t have to figure it out again if you do a library rebuild.
You can already use Musicbrainz Picard to write a Musicbrainz ID metatag into your files.
Cool. Is there somewhere I can read about the specific tag name, ID format, etc? I do not want to use MusicBrainz and let it touch my files, I just want to put their IDs in manually when I need match help.
Are those tags for tracks, or albums, or … ?
