Support for Ceton (4 and 6 tuner) PCI and Ethernet

st0rmcast, I must had downloaded an older version, I tried it again with a new download and it works perfectly, even less CPU! great work and thank you!! Hopefully Plex would allow to cast to chromecast, but that’s another story. THANKS AGAIN!!

I’m trying to get this set up as well with a Ceton 4 pci card and the cetonproxy program running. The channels seem to register, the lineup.xml returns the channel list, but trying the network stream double check in VLC does not pull in an active feed. The Ceton diagnostics app seems to show that it is working okay. I’m hoping it may be an easy fix of something I’ve overlooked. Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated!

Cetonproxy is probably getting confused which network adapter to listen on as an HDHomeRun.

Try dropping down the “Advanced Settings”, and put in the IP address given to your computer for your local network into the “Listen IP as HDHomeRun” box. (The computer running cetonproxy)

Hi st0rmcat. I was hoping you were still around these parts. I entered the computer’s IP address, but still no dice. I’m now wondering if there are issues with the Ceton tuner. In cetonproxy, under the Tuners tab, all four tuners show as “Channel: 0, Not Active”. Any other thoughts or ideas that I should try? Much appreciated as always.

Hello st0rmcat. I have the InfinityTV4 as well. I have the same issues as aa_ron. My Ceton is currently in a windows 7 machine. I have installed cetonproxy on a windows 10 machine. I did notice I don’t have the beta versions of the firmware installed on my ceton card.

So I was able to get this working but required me to set the Listening Port for Ceton to the IP of the device itself which for me was 192.168.200.2. Then I set the Listening Port for HDHomeRun to the IP of my computer so in my case 192.168.0.2. Then it worked. Now I can’t say if it’s slow or not right now as just did some VLC tests but how will this work if my Windows Media Center computer is still utilizing the tuners until I can test things in a different platform and eventually switch. So for now I see if my WMC is recording 2 shows they do not show in use by the proxy app so curious if my 4 tuner Ceton was recording 3 shows on WMC and Plex decided to record 2 shows what would happen.

Yes, that was his case too it seemed. Cetonproxy won’t work with the older firmwares.

It will explode  But seriously it’s not setup to share tuners. They will probably just fight with each other. The best you can do right now to share is pay attention to which tuners WMC likes to use out of the 4, and then uncheck those tuners in the list in cetonproxy so it doesn’t use them… and then make sure neither are trying to record too many shows at once.

Edit: Actually, I believe you can also tell WMC which tuners to use too. It’s been a while, but that could help.

St0rmcat, updated the firmware to v15 and it’s working like a champ. I owe you a beer. or two.

St0rmcat…I know this is an old thread but I need your help with your amazing program CetonProxy

I’m using it on a Winddows 8.1 machine and it works perfectly once I have it running and it allows both NextPVR and WMC to record at the same time with no issues, except sometimes one of the simultaneous recordings fails at some point but they are redundant so it’s not an issue…I only use both recorders for really important recordings because NextPVR sometimes doesn’t record. This really isn’t a problem just sharing information.

My issue is when my machine restarts. I get an error something about CetonPRoxy failing to start because avutil-56.dll is not present. So I manually click the desktop icon and CetonProxy loads but I have to hit the select channels button to get the channels to load…but now NextPVR does not see the tuners so I have to go into Task Manager and kill all things NextPVR and restart them with CetonProxy running correctly to get it to see my tuners and then everything works fine…until a power outage or I have to reboot the system.

Do you have any idea what is happening? Is there something I can do to get CetonProxy to load properly automatically upon reboot and before NextPVR so when I am away I don’t loose all my pending recordings until I see that the machine has rebooted?

Thanks for a great program…it’s allowed me to continue using the only 6 channel tuner on the market and I have 6 TVs and 4 kids so it’s a lifesaver.
