Surround sound works in PMP but not Plex for Mac, AAC works in Plex for Mac but not PMP

Hi All,

Surround sound works in PMP but not in new Plex for Mac app. AAC works in Plex for Mac but not PMP. Any suggestions?

If you need audio passthrough, use PMP.

I prefer PMP but AAC suddenly stopped working . All AAC, not just surround but also stereo.

Try this:

  1. close PMP, uninstall it.
  2. Make sure the ‘data’ folder of PMP is empty https://support.plex.tv/articles/207338798-advanced-configuration/
    (DON’T confuse this with the data folder of plex server!)
  3. Download and install the latest PMP release from here: Plex Media Player
