For quite some time, I used Media Server to stream movies from an external drive on my PC to a Roku - all of which are on my local network. Then I bought a Plex Pass which seems to want me to designate an internet address for all my movies - which I do not have. So, I don’t seem to be able to stream my movies anymore. So, does anyone know how I can use my new Plex Pass subscription to stream my movies from an external drive on my PC to my Roku?
Have you claimed your server in server settings??
LOL, love to see intellectual property attorneys using Plex.

After installing Plex Media Server (PMS) on your PC, you need to claim your server.
If you’re working on the PC running PMS, point a browser at http://127.0.0.1:32400/. If PMS is running correctly, you will see a login screen. Use the same login id/password you use for plex.tv (i.e. to post in this forum).
You can claim from a different PC as well. You need to know the local IP address of the PC running PMS, usually something like 192.168.1.xxx (where xxx is between 1 and 254). Substitute that IP address in place of 127.0.0.1. http://192.168.1.xxx:32400/. You can then login, claim the server, and start configuring libraries.
Once you have claimed your server, you can then build a library - tell Plex where to find your movies, tv shows, etc.
After that is finished, you can then stream to your Roku. Launch the Plex client on your Roku. You’ll see an authentication/login screen. Once authenticated, the Roku should see the Plex server and you can then stream movies, etc.
The Quick Start Guide has additional information on how to get things up and running.

FYI, you can change your username to something besides your e-mail address. Login to plex.tv. My Account → Settings. You can then use either your username or e-mail address to login to PMS, authenticate clients, etc.
