Server Version#: 1.41.6.9685
Player Version#: 10.26.0.2578
Weird problem, consistently reproducible.
My tv remote has replay/skip buttons (left and right arrows) and by default, left replays/rewinds 10 seconds while right skips forward 30 seconds. I can also press ‘up’ or ‘down’ to access the progress bar to rewind or skip forward, or access playback options.
If I need to enable subtitles during playback, eg: when a scene is spoken in another language, I press down, over to the audio icon and choose a subtitle. Now comes the fun.
A mostly irrelevant problem is I immediately get a message that my ‘connection to the server is not fast enough’. This is absurd; my devices are all wired at 1Gbps to a 10GbE switch, on the same subnet. The message only appears in this specific circumstance. The subtitles load, the program continues to play. It’s an annoyance that should be addressed, but isn’t a real issue.
The bigger problem is once the video starts playing again after enabling the subs, replay/skip functions no longer work. I press either ‘left’ or ‘right’ buttons and there is no response. All other functions continue to work, including accessing the progress bar and navigating, but I can’t rewind or fast forward with the skip buttons. Reverting to subs == ‘none’ doesn’t change this behavior. Only when I exit and start the video again do I regain the capability to rewind/FF.
This sounds crazy even as a type it, but it’s 100% consistent. This has been a problem for some time, I’d guess greater than 3 months but not sure.
These behaviors are both ridiculous and it’s hard to imagine what might be leading to them. It would be nice to hear I’m not crazy, and get this resolved in a future release.
