Switching to libraries tab crashes app in 2025.11.1

Just updated to 2025.11.1 on iPhone and after opening the app and switching to Libraries tab, the app keeps crashing.

I honestly don’t understand how Plex can make things worse! At least 2025.10.1/2 was somewhat usable, now the latest version is TOTALLY UNUSABLE!!!

So a bit of extra info on this - it only appears to be if my TV Shows library is the default (last library selected). If I select Live TV and then switch to Libraries, it will show the TV Shows library but then I have to quickly switch to Browse (instead of Recommended). Once I’m in the Browse tab I can navigate my TV Shows library. But if I switch back to Recommended, the app crashes immediately.

It doesn’t do this for my Movies library.

This was resolved with some help from Plex support - it appears to have been related to some bad metadata for a show that was recorded using Channels DVR (but added to Plex library).

We also have a fix incoming (not 100% if it’ll be the very next release or the next one) that will help when this kind of metadata issue exists. It should prevent the crash or putting you into a state where you get stuck.

I’m on iOS 2025.12.0 (1009) with server 1.41.6.9685 and I’m having issues with the Browse tab for one of my libraries. Every other library seems fine. The entire app freezes and I have to force quit the app. I’ve tried it a few times and it freezes every time.

What was the specific metadata issue causing the problem? I have some items with non-english characters and I’m wondering if that’s causing my freezing issue. The latest iOS update (2025.12.0 (1009)) seems to have started the freezing issue for me.

I had one TV show episode that had multiple recordings (they were all very short - created from Channels DVR recording an episode and having signal issues).

But assume other types of “bad data” could cause it to hang as well. For me the app quit on its own - it didn’t freeze/hang.

Issue still exists in the 2025.13.0 test flight beta. Happy to provide any info to help diagnose. With the beta, the, the default to browse is nice, but immediately hard locks the app :).

Enable Debug logging on your server and reproduce the issue. Grab PMS logs and client logs and share them with me. If you can do a screen recording of what you’re experiencing that would be great. Downloading your Database and sharing that with me might also be helpful. Please feel free to share these via a DM. DB and a video recording might exceed the forums upload limit so you may need to rely on Google Drive or some similar cloud storage with sharing.
