Sync, Cloud Storage, Cloud Sync, and Friends Plex Server.....Should I be able to do this?

I’m almost afraid of bringing this up since search through the forums gives me the impression that cloud sync doesn’t work reliably at all.

I have cloud sync working on my server to my cloud sync account, it works “good”…not as great as just playing from plex directly, but it works and actually accomplishes what I want. I recently noticed while browsing my friends servers (all of which are lifetime Plex Pass subscribers) that I had the option to Sync to my cloud storage account. Now if this was working this would be REALLY freaking cool. But what seems to be the case is that their server is capable of accepting the sync request, doing the conversion, but stops was the “Waiting to be Uploaded” phase.

  1. Am I suppose to be able to cloud sync from a friends server?

  2. If so, how do I go about troubleshooting what is failing here?

Syncing from a friends Server to your CloudSync server is not possible.
CloudSync showing up in the SYNC TO list, when viewing a shared server, is a known display issue in Plex/Web

Darn. I was hopping it was something else going wrong.

here is hoping that the bug gets fixed by not removing that as an option, but allowing the Cloud Sync from others servers!
