I know this thread is about the Plex for Android app but I’m having the same issue on the current iOS app. A lot of users are also experiencing this and reporting it in this thread.
Will this be fixed when Sync is updated to Downloads in the iOS app?
Going to need more details and maybe examples. In my testing, the downloaded subtitles do play.
I don’t know if an arbitrary can be used, but the plan is to offer more choices.
No, this is no longer possible.
I’m sorry, but what does that have to do with Downloads. You should still be able to use it over a VPN. The app doesn’t care what type of connection you have.
I don’t see how that’s possible. I’ll ask about it but that is odd.
I would be very happy to have more freedom to choose from.
It would also be great if you can choose to delete episodes you see. Currently I can only choose to delete all episodes after a certain amount of time. But if I’m done by then, the data will remain. It would be better to delete them as soon as they have the status “seen”.
are there any plans to add some control over which libraries the server owner want to ALLOW DOWNLOAD for, instead of just an all or nothing check box for the libraries that are shared to a user ?
@anon18523487 Will there be a way for the server admin to track to see who is downloading what using the Download feature? It would help for troubleshooting/bandwidth usage purposes. Currently when there’s buffering issues, I can usually check on Tautulli if someone is syncing something at the moment.
Currently, when a download occurs, it will be shown as an activity in the icon at the top right on Plex Web. This only shows what is currently downloading, not who or past downloads. We hope to add more info to that and even a history, but that will be a bit in the future.
Looks like my SD card died a terrible death. However new card is not going much better.
The picture shows it’s downloading songs but says there is No Downloaded Content. There is currently 13.9GB of music downloaded. If i flip around screens it will show the list again, then go back to this. Let me know what logs you need.
I also find it strange that the files are in the Android/Data folder and not the Android/Media folder.
The …Android/data/com.plexapp.android/files/1/Metadata folder has two subfolders:
Albums - 2.75GB 5490 files in 10935 folders
Artists - 178MB 419 files in 891 folders
Which all seems like excessive overhead. Sync was a propritary file but didn’t consume as much disk space.
Huh. That does seem a bit excessive. Let me look into that. This info is needed. That’s what allows you to browse the Downloaded content just like browsing your server.
True. Sync relied a lot on the server and why it wasn’t as stable.
I had already Downloaded my entire Music Library to my Samsung S8+ and Galaxy Tab S7 before I posted the question which was more of a query about selecting Multiple Items prior to Downloading which would make the process much easier.
I am happy to report that there were no issues Downloading the entire Music Library on either Device and all is working well.
Generating logs. It also won’t play from the download library tab (unable to play media). I can now only play a downloaded playlist. It’s taking longer and longer to get music playing before I can leave my driveway. I sahre the log files shortly.
It’s currently downloading but the recommended tab gave me this:
