No offline subtitles on iPad

Server Version#: 1.21.3.4046
Player Version#: latest on iPad Pro

Downloading movies for offline viewing on an upcoming trip. Though subtitles are selected or enabled, the subtitles do not download. In offline viewing, I can choose playback settings and choose subtitles. It shows me 2 options OFF and English (MOV_TEXT). OFF is checked but it does not let me choose English (MOV_TEXT). Any idea what is happening or why my subtitles are not downloading?

Hey!

I just made a post about what I think is the same problem on iphone. Here is my post Selected subtitlte is automatically unselected for synced media (iOS)

Can you look at the gif at the bottom of the post and confirm if you have the exact same problem?

Having the exact problem myself!!!

Also having exactly the same issue too, had no problem with it for few years as I use it regularly for watching programmes on my iPad on my breaks at work but this issue started about 2 week ago or so

I checked on my iPhone too, same problem - it just defaults back to “off” as soon as I select a subtitles file

Asked a mate of mine who have Plex on NAS too to check for me, he got same problem

I believe it is a bug coming from the latest app update on 18th Feb

It is exactly the same behavior I am seeing as show in the hyperlink referenced above. I did not mess with any XML files, just sync a few movies.

I saw an Plex app update come up on App Store today, I had hope that the issue might be fixed but am disappointed to find that it has not been

Could anyone from Plex team acknowledge us on here that they are aware of this issue please ?

Thanks

Well, nothing. I guess they just don’t care? Really disappointed too.

I sent a message privately for their attention, they have replied to me directly saying thank you for raising this and they’ll look into it, so fingers crossed they’ll get it fixed soon

I didn’t think I needed to because I’m sure they can pick that up from my first post on here

Right now I would offline sync with .ass and the subtitles would burn in the file. Wish they could fix it soon though.

Am disappointed to find that the latest Plex app update still doesnt fix the bug :frowning:

Plex Team, can you please let us know what is happening with this and when will it be fixed ? One of the main reason I paid for Plex Pass is for the ability to sync but I am unable to use this feature while the bug exists

Yea. Cant understand how it is not prioritized

Yup, offline syncing still breaks subtitles. Really disappointed…

Same problem. No Subtitles in Dowloaded media, in iOS or iPadOS systems (the one I use)

I have the same issue on iOS on the iPhones when the iPhone is in airplane mode or not connected to PMS. It is affecting multiple iPhone devices with the same PMS. PMS server Version 1.22.1.4275. iOS Version 7.15

When syncing the subtitles appear to be converted as I can go to the movie and attempt to select the subtitle I cannot select the subtitle. The subtitle is there, but it doesn’t allow me to select it.

When connected to the PMS server subtitle is available and works just fine.

Same issue. It’s really not great. Happy to help with any data required.

I understand that this problem may need time to investigate, but the complete silence from the devs are baffling…

Same issue

Subtitles appear they have been added to the synced movie however you are unable to select them

I have tried preselecting subtitles before syncing to no avail

Also have on of my friends who now has to deal with this issue so I hope this is fixed soon. It has now already been more than a month so at least a reply to this would be very nice to receive.
