downloads used to work, but now I get error downloading item, and more recently I get a error 409 on my iPhone 13 trying to to download a few movies for the weekend trip I am going on.

Still not working on IOS (15.5) for me.

It’s really worrying that almost 12 months on from this post announcing the delivery of the Download feature on IOS, it still isn’t robust for many users.

PLEX for iOS v8.5 just released, and looks like Downloads (for me) is finally fixed. Even successfully recovered from a download error. And only took a year! :grin:

I just tried the newest version. Switched my settings to “maximum compatibility” and received a download error right away. Guess I’m switching back to Original Quality. At least this works for me.

Worked for me with a test movie of 7G on a Pi4 (took awhile on the pi)

MovieFan.Plex: Do you mean cast as in “casting” to a Chromecast? That work is still planned Is this still on the roadmap @MovieFan.Plex until there’s a fix downloads is useless to me. Thanks :+1:.

Yes, it’s still on the to-do list. I don’t have an ETA though.

I’m having an issue where I am losing the ability to offset subtitles that are downloading with media to my iOS device. When I stream from my server, I can offset as expected, but for downloaded media the option goes away. I have subtitle burn in set to Automatic in my client preferences. Is anyo…

Hi all…for anyone who may also be experiencing frustration on Apple Mobile (iOS) devices such as iPad and iPhone, be aware that downloads do not work in the background. You must keep PLEX in the foreground and the device unlocked for the download to complete. If you would like to see background downloads implemented, please see this feature request and vote for it.
