Sync order (the order of the sync list on PMS & clients)

One things that frustrates me on both the server side and client side (at least the Android and windows clients) is that my sync lists which are quite extensive are not in any order other than when they were added. This is obviously fine if you have one or two items but can quickly get very confusing if you like to automate the whole process and are adding and removing from the sync list regularly.

It seems like a very small thing to ask, am I alone in finding this annoying.

With thanks

Hi @jjkc29

We are aware of a few instances where the ordering of sync queues would not be correct.

A fix for this is on it’s way very soon. Please keep your eye on the release notes in the next upcoming Plex Media Server releases.

The latest Plex Pass server release (0.9.16.0) addresses this issue. Let me know if you have any further issues with the sync ordering.

Several releases on and there still doesn’t seem to be a fix this - at least for me.

There was a fix introduced in 0.9.16.0. If you could provide an example of what isn’t sorting correctly please let me know so I can investigate.

I can provide an example. The iOS client for example lists Sync content by date added for sync and doesn’t order by name.

I’m having this problem also.

I have a TV series and watched the first episode locally. I then went to sync the remaining episodes to my iPad for travel. All of the episodes have been optimized, but episode 2 is still waiting to be downloaded while episodes 3-7 downloaded. I understand why episode 8 is still waiting since it’s last in line.

Realized the sync screen doesn’t show episode numbers. Here are the numbers and titles to verify this is syncing out of order. http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=279536&seasonid=676870&lid=7

System Info:
Plex Server Version 1.5.3.3580 running on Ubuntu 16.04

iPad Version: 4.9 on iOS 10.2.1

Early 2021 clean-up: no feature suggestion (appears to be referring to a bug?)
