With the new desktop apps out will it be possible in the future to sync optimized versions of media?
I think it would be a really useful feature. To make it even better it could present a list of admin defined qualities to the user that could be on request transcoded but then also saved as an optimized version for a period of time for other users to make use of. Basically integrate optimized versions and downloads.
Yes, the ability to set a download quality is something we hope to offer in the future.
Awesome to hear. I may not make use of it but family members with devices with less storage would appreciate the space saving options.
Bump! My server is almost all raw Blu-Ray rips, and very few of my devices have 40gb to spare.

That would be nice. It’s weird that for now you can only download the original quality. Sometimes I only need like a series in 480p 
or a movie in 720p instead of 1080p. would love if this would be again doable like at smartphones
Forgive me, but I’m not terribly familiar with the community; is there a place where I could keep track of a future feature like this? I’d just like to know if there’s some way I could eventually be notified when this feature does land.
