Sync to cloud extremely slow.

Hi

I have tried using the cloud service with google drive and it seems to work ok, but syncing is really slow (10 minutes for a 20mb .flac file).

Is this normal or am I missing some settings here?

Hi

It's normal for it to be significantly slower than manually uploading a file - I use Bitcasa and it's just as slow. The speed of the cloud provider is not an issue either, as the process is slower than the slowest ones (iCloud and Google!). I have noticed with Bitcasa that my other sync jobs outside of Plex (but on the same machine) prevent Cloud Sync from working at all. That is, my folder mirroring of all my full-sized MKVs to Bitcasa actually prevents Plex Media Server from uploading to Bitcasa at all. Not sure if that would apply to Google Drive too, but do you have any other GDrive uploads going at the same time as Cloud Sync that might be slowing it down even further?

Don't forget that Cloud Sync will very likely be transcoding if your bitrates are too high for reliable streaming - my films get converted before being queued for Cloud Sync. What's the bitrate of the FLAC files?

I can’t seem to upload faster than 550kbps. In a got a 12mbps upload :frowning:

i`m having the same problem plex only uses a fraction from my upload speed for cloud syncing please help us

I’m also having the same problem! Help us somebody! :frowning:

The same thing is happening to me where I have 57mbps upload at home. At my home Amazon Drive Windows upload client works flawlessly.

However at my friends place with almost same upload speed, Plex uploads quite faster. I would say may be on connection’s top speed. So problem appears to be only at my home. May be it’s router settings? :\
