Plex Sync and Google Drive failing after recent update.

In another part of the forums that is not as closely monitor by Plex Staff as this is suppose to be…

Starting last week I think, Cloud Sync with Google drive has been failing. I have deleted all my sync tasks, made sure the sync folders were clear, and then re-added. I can see that the file is transcoded, but then it just sits there waiting to upload.

  • I have restart Plex several times.
  • I have done the Google Drive re-authorize.
  • I have plenty of space on the google drive in question, I use it for my Plex Cloud, and was able to upload files without any problems.
  • I am on the current release of Plex
  • I have no problems playing existing files in Cloud Sync
  • Last successful upload was on 11/21
  • Currently Running: Version 1.10.0.4523 on Windows PC

I do not think that there is anything on my side, I am guessing there was a bad update, but I would like for a confirmation of this and then the fix.

Thank you and all help appreciated.

Matt

+1 same issue

@“MovieFan.Plex” I have seen you pop in on a few sync related bugs, any assistance here would be greatly appreciated.

This also occurs for me with Dropbox.

The CloudSync feature has been extremely fragile since I purchased a lifetime Plex pass a couple of years ago.

Plex News or a working and robust CloudSync feature?
Let me think…

I am up to version 1.11.0.4666, and I am still having issues. I have deleted all conversions that were waiting to upload, and recreated a sync job, and same result. It is just “Waiting to be uploaded”

Why does this issue seem to come back at random times, other people have this issue, why can it not be identified?

I have deleted all conversions that were waiting to upload, and recreated a sync job, and same result. It is just “Waiting to be uploaded”

Anyone having this problem, please follow these steps above and then get me the PMS logs.

Window 10 Pro x64
PMS Version 1.9.6.4429

I am having the exact same issue. I have removed everything from Cloud Sync and deauthorized dropbox. I then relinked drop box and put one movie in my movie folder. The file was transcoded successfully. Once done it just sits on “Waiting to be uploaded”. I have rebooted, etc. Here are 2 sets of logs. I removed all cloud sync then closed PMS. After i opened it I setup the cloud sync, let it transcode, then got the “Waiting to be uploaded”. Then I reboot, and pulled the log again. If you need anything more let me know.

Thanks for your help with this @“MovieFan.Plex”.

Thanks for the log. I see where it finished transcoding but then runs into some issues communicating with the Cloud Sync. I’m not sure if that’s what is stopping the upload. I am investigating.

Here is what I see. I have one Cloud sync, with only one movie. It has been stuck in the status for over 24 hours.

@“MovieFan.Plex” any update on this? Do you need anything else from me? I see it has been a couple weeks and I am still not sure the progress of this issue. I am still patiently waiting for this to be resolved. Not having Cloud Sync is super disappointing.

I think that their resources are currently concentrated on the Plex Sudoku channel which is being developed as a new priority feature

Sorry, no news. Although your logs did indicate a problem, we haven’t been able to pin down what is causing the problem.

I love sudoku. That would be awesome.

It sounds like many others are having the same issue. Would more logs help @“MovieFan.Plex” ?

No need. I am able to reproduce the problem. Will provide an update when I know more.

I just tried it and it is working. I rebooted the PC and it didn’t start right away. I removed the sync, then re-synced . After the transcoding, everything started to upload. Thank you @“MovieFan.Plex” ! This is awesome! I will post if I have any further issues on the topic.

Awesome. You beat me to the punch. We are still investigating some other issues, but in general uploading should be working again.

@“MovieFan.Plex” Thanks for providing this update.

The jobs I had queued “Waiting for Upload” did not change status. However I’m removing all my CloudSync sections and starting from scratch to see if re-queuing them will get me further. Will report back with my findings

@“MovieFan.Plex” Still having this issue with Cloud Sync and Google Drive. Am on OS X Plex Pass beta updates channel and server is up-to-date. Do I need to re-auth Google Drive to get this fix to work?

Update: unlinked and re-authorized Google Drive, rebooted server, still having the same problem – all Cloud Sync jobs to Google hang at “Waiting to be uploaded.” OS X server version 1.12.0.4829.
