Simply, re-add the ability to sync content to set top boxes, it used to be in early builds of the Playstation & Xbox apps. This would allow military personnel, people who travel often, or people who go on retreats to be able to sync content before leaving to watch in any location.
Apple TV, at least, doesn’t allow this (Apple’s limitation, not Plex’s).

I just care about Android TV apps like FireTV that has storage… If Apple TV wants to be limited people will just have to switch to another device.
Bump, please allow offline/download/sync for Android TV devices.
Every new portable projector is moving from Android OS to Android TV, so this is probably going to start getting requested more.
I take my projector camping where I don’t always have cell service to hotspot, plus it kills both cell & projector batteries using WiFi.
All of the XGIMI projectors use Android TV, and Anker’s newest projectors are switching to Android TV. More and more devices are going to start going Android TV too.
Another vote for allowing Android TV to be able to sync media. We use an Android TV device to watch movies while camping in our travel trailer and do not have access to internet when we do. I had hoped that when we got plex pass that we could sync movies to the Android TV Plex app, but it isn’t capable so we have to use VLC instead. This was one of the primary reasons that I had bought a lifetime plex pass and wish I had known Android TV didn’t support this beforehand.
That is odd. VLC let’s you upload content to the Apple TV, and I believe some of the IPTV apps store content via record on the Apple TV. Is it that they do not allow Movies and or TV shows because it would complete with their offerings?
Would really love to have this feature. Seems like it would be easy to turn on, especially for Android. A lot of situations where this would be useful: traveling, people in rural areas with slow download speeds, or just evenings when bandwidth is high and buffering is an issue.
It’s odd that I have 2TB of disk space for my Sony Bravia which runs Android TV (USB connected HDD) but I cannot Sync anything to the Plex app on the TV.
