Synced items disappear from client and cannot be synced again

Hi,

i have a problem with Plex Sync between my PMS running on OSX 10.12.1, and my Android tablet running on Android 5.1.1.
Some items are correctly synced, but later on, like a few days or weeks, the items are not available anymore on the client.
The client’s Sync Status screen is showing items with an exclamation mark, and says “There is an error with this item”.
The server’s Sync Status screen is also showing items with an exclamation mark, but doesn’t say anything.

The only way to get items to sync again is to delete the items from the Sync, and add them again.

What is weird is that it doesn’t affect all the synced items, only some of them.

Any idea what could be the problem, and how i can fix it ?

Do you have more than 1 sync job for the same item? You may have a conflict where 1 sync job says to delete after watching and another that doesn’t.

i have only 1 sync job per item.
Actually the issue happened again yesterday for the ipad of my wife, and this morning for my android tablet.
It looks like this:


On the client side, even if some files were synced before, it won’t play the file.
And after a sync, it won’t even display the items anymore, and will say “there is an error with this item”.

Can you hover over your sync jobs then click on the pencil icon? Provide me that screen shot for your Luther job.

i’m not at home now and i already recreated the jobs as i needed to sync my items

When clicking the edit/pen icon, i get the same screen as when it’s working properly. If i try to change parameters of the sync (either from the server or the client), nothing happens

I suspect it could come from the network drive, my media is hosted on a NAS, but PMS is running on my macbook.
Sometimes when i launch Plex, i get some error messages when trying to play some media, but after properly connecting the NAS on my macbook, media plays well.
Maybe the Sync does not handle the NAS disconnection properly ?

I would still like to see the screen shot from Plex Web.

PMS scans for available drives when it starts. If the drives are not ready at that time, PMS won’t see them later when they are ready. It’s best to make sure the NAS is booted and ready before starting PMS. Otherwise, you will need to restart PMS after the NAS is ready. I’m not sure this is the problem with the Sync jobs though.

it’s been a while, but i still have those issues.
Looks like it’s not related to drives not mounted correctly, as i can get only some shows going in error, but not others, while they are all on the same network drive.
