Synced Track Suddenly Stops Playing

Was listening to some music that I have synced to my mobile device today. Walked outside got disconnected from my Wifi and song suddenly stops playing even though I started the play by going directly to the synced media for playback.

Attached is the log file from my android device.

Here is another log it occurred again later in the day

So this morning I received the notification to update Plex for Android to version 5.0.0.737 (43934d5e) and performed the above test again.

Playing synced music while at the office connected to office WiFi;

  1. Open Plex for Android on Nexus 6P with Android 7.0
  2. Switch to “Nexus 6P Local and synced content”
  3. Navigate to the Music Library so that I can do shuffle playback
  4. Play all content on shuffle
  5. let it play
  6. go out for coffee
  7. track stop playing

Attached is another log.

Thanks for reporting this.

So I’ve tried the following:

  1. Add an album to sync.
  2. Start playing the album while connected to WiFi.
  3. Enable airplane mode on my phone.

Afterwards playback continued without issues, and I was even able to skip to the rest of tracks in the album, and they all played fine.

If you follow these same steps does playback stop? I just thought they would be very similar to leaving the house and thus losing the WiFi signal.

I’ll take a look at your logs in the meantime…

Hi @ManuelPG wow I haven’t checked this thread in a while.

I no longer think this perticular problem is related to losing connectivity. I think it’s a playback problem of the synced media. I have this problem also on a Nexus 5 that I only use in the house on WiFi. I’ll get the logs next time it happens and post them in this thread.

I also think this thread https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/231632/music-playback-stopping/p1 is the same issue (they have current logs).
