Synology DS418j - can not see sub folders and no media is being sanned

Hi,

New user migrating from Kodi.

I have set plex up on my NAS but its not bringing back any media into my libraries

When doing the initial library set up it would only let me navigate to my film parent folder. After browsing to teh belwo location in the library set up, the next option was ‘back’
/HomeNAS/Volume1/Films

Under films I have a number of sub folders
/Films/Anime
/Films/Kids
/Films/Watched
etc…

I couldn’t see these during the set up…

With each of these folder individual movies are then within folders i.e
/Films/Watched/Superman/Superman.Mkv

I let plex run for a bit to see if it was just taking its time ( I have a large library). After this didn’t work I went back and instead of browsing for the sub folder i just type it in i.e.:

/HomeNAS/Volume1/Films/Watched

But again this didn’t work.

I’m presuming this is something vary basic. Maybe a permissions thing? But Kodi manages to navigate into those folders and save files.

Was there anything relevant that failed to work from the Plex Synology FAQ?

I’m guessing there’s a few videos on Youtube about this
while we wait for the Synology folks to drop in.
