Can this nas transcode using hardware without any backend command line adjustment
Pretty sure the 920+ is one of the “best choice” options for Plex. More info here. At least that’s the one most of the Synology forums still say “get this one”.
I have 918+ and don’t need to do any command line things. I think there was one hiccup with particular chipset that needed adjustment but that was fixed in an update.
Edit: the x21 series is what has lots of people concerned about transcoding. Because of Synology changing chipsets I’ve been keeping an eye on QNAP now despite being on Synology for over 10 years.
