Using the DSM 7 app provides a method to repair that in the Installer.

  1. Uninstall the application – use the KEEP option

  2. Install the same SPK file again
    a. Select the “Plex Claim Token” option
    b. Click “Get Plex Claim token” hyperlink
    c. The browser will open and present a token. Copy it.
    d. Return to the installer window
    e. Paste the token in the window
    f. Click Next and continue installing.
    g. It will require an additional 15-20 seconds for the installer and Plex.tv to communicate.

  3. When it returns, the final popup will tell you the server was “claimed” to your account and show your Plex account name.

  4. You may now press Control F5 on the Plex/web browser to make it reload.

  5. Your server will be listed there normally again.

It now shows the server but won’t load the webpage and when I go to plex directly it says ( app.plex.tv is unable to connect “server” securely )

Try connecting to it directly (locally). Let’s see how that goes.

http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/web (which loads the bundled Plex/web)

App.plex.tv often is a newer app version and sometimes not 100%.

That link does not work

Use the actual IP address of your Synology NAS. For example: http://192.168.1.2:32400/web

Those IP’s dont work

In addition to Trumpy’s excellent instructions, you can also look in the Synology Package Center.

Login to your NAS, open the Package Center, click on Installed, find Plex Media Server and click on Open. This will open a new browser window for you to login to Plex Media Server.

If you are viewing the Plex Media Server details, you can also click on the URL in the lower right corner.

My URL isn’t working at all for some reason no matter what I do, can someone maybe hop on a call or something so we can sort this out?

Show us please? What URL are you using

When I go to the installed package and grab the URL from the packages the URL ( http://servername.direct.quickconnect.to:32400/web )

I tired IP too but still dind;t work

I read English just fine. I have just retired you’re method and the page can not be read for some reason

I do read them fine, I just said I re-looked at your method and tried it but it did no work.

this is the URL I am using
https://169.254.19.233:5005/web

Okay will do

@Michael_Penningtonss_com

On a Synology, whenever you see an IP address which starts with 169.254.x.x, it means the ethernet cable is not plugged into that port and it doesn’t actually have a valid address.

I presume you have another adapter in the machine.

Control Panel → Network → go to that adapter which is your main adapter.

Make certain it’s got got box checked to make it the default gateway.
