@ChuckPa. I have a hard time configuring/setting-up plex first time on Synology DS918+. I’ve installed different versions- from the package and the plex website. I’ve followed up on the instructions mentioned in this thread as well. Though the new pop-up windows for plex is opening, and the server is identified. A new window pops up saying there is a problem claiming this server. I appreciate your help in resolving this issue. Attached is the log. Plex Media Server.7z (30.6 KB)
I have moved your post here into this thread. This is a new problem and deserves its own thread. The other has been solved.
You have a major problem with your Plex installation on the Synology. Specifically, the directory structure is incomplete or was severely damaged.

- Stop Plex
- Uninstall the package (Package Center)
- Control Panel - Shared Folders - Delete the Plex share
- Control Panel - Users - Delete user Plex
- Restart DSM
- Reinstall PMS and let it start.
- Wait 1 minute before first access (Synology isn’t that fast)
@ChuckPa Thank you very much for a quick turnaround. Seemingly it worked. And I noticed the green little lock sign for a while before it turned out to be yellow. I believe it might be the way I’m giving the directory path and managing the media files. So the server status (color of the lock) kept on changing between green and yellow. I appreciate your guidance on stabilizing the connection for a seamless play. Attached is the log.Plex Media Server_Success.7z (48.0 KB)
