Regarding updating to a 1.40 release…
- Many Plex servers have databases with internal problems.
- PMS 1.40.x does not check for the problems as part of the update process.
- Updating to 1.40.x exposes the problems. If bad enough, PMS will not run after the update.
- The normal “repair a corrupt database” tools and procedures will not correct the problem.
- The problem can be repaired by issuing SQL commands from the Linux/Windows/etc. command line.
- Plex engineering is aware of the problem and working on a solution. I’ve not seen any details regarding an ETA for the solution.
