Synology NAS - Plex stops running

Regarding updating to a 1.40 release…

  • Many Plex servers have databases with internal problems.
  • PMS 1.40.x does not check for the problems as part of the update process.
  • Updating to 1.40.x exposes the problems. If bad enough, PMS will not run after the update.
  • The normal “repair a corrupt database” tools and procedures will not correct the problem.
  • The problem can be repaired by issuing SQL commands from the Linux/Windows/etc. command line.
  • Plex engineering is aware of the problem and working on a solution. I’ve not seen any details regarding an ETA for the solution.
