Synology NAS updates for PLEX, Frustrations

PLEX Server Update 07/07/2019

The article above outlines procedures to modify after a PLEX server update to 1.16.1.1291-158e5b199-x86_64.spk. Currently, I am in a place that my PLEX media is not playing and my server is not being connected to both from my Android TV. I tried to uninstall PMS and then reinstalled to revert to the previous version. Unfortunately, a restart of the Android TV breaks the binding and no media plays any more. I am thinking the solution is the fix outlined at the link above but I am reluctant to do it.

Also I tried to follow the instructions bit I did not follow how to create a folder and set it specific permissions in the share on my Synology DS-916+. NAS. All my read-only permission options are not selectable. I really just want a clear solution to update both the PMS and the player to the most current version and have my Android TV working again. Please advise, thanks.

@trumpy81, Thank you very much! I was able to follow your detailed instructions and my SONY Android TV is connecting once again. I will continue to monitor it and post an update if the connection breaks again. I do have another inquiry about streaming but I will do a separate post. :grinning:
