Upgrading Plex above 1.14.1 makes media available

When I upgrade above this version on my Synology NAS DS-216+ - Plex says it can’t play my media files. I had to revert back to this version. Now with Plex annoucement saying you will need version 1.18.2 or higher will mean I won’t be able to use my media files.
Anyone else run into this issue?
If no solution - what other software media streaming software does anyone reccomend for Synology NAS that will work with smart TV or streaming devices.

That fixed not being able to play the media in my plex in the browser. But now my tv doesn’t see the Plex server. Oy vey! Now to figure out how to update the Plex app on my LG WebOS TV
