I have 2 plex servers accessing the same Synology NAS. Recently the one server has stopped adding new movies that are located in the Library folder, while the other server accessing the same shared folder sees and adds them properly. I have tried removing checking permission with no luck. I have removed the movies rescanned the library, optimized the database and emptied the trash. Afterward I re-added the movies and the 2nd server still fails to pick up these movies while the other successfully adds them. Both servers are running the latest Plex build, but one is running from a Mac Mini server while the errant server runs on a new Synology DS918+ NAS. Both are accessing a share on an older Synology storage NAS.
Sorry I should have clarified. I have a movie file share I have specified as volume1/Plex Storage/Movies on a separate older synology NAS that doesn’t run plex server. Both my Mac mini and a separate newer synology DS 918+ NAS run plex server. Both have been running fine for 6 months without issue until just recently when the plex sever on the DS918+ will no longer add new movies located in the shared directory.
I am not adding movies to the plex directory you mentioned above.
I think PMS still has retained the other movies. This might need a 'Full Dance" or a 'recreate" because permissions might have gotten lost and then deleted (auto empty trash) because the media wasn’t found.
Navigate Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Caches
Delete everything you see there.
Start Plex
Now give it a Refresh All Metadata
Your logs are showing me it’s getting hung up but I’m not certain it’s entirely PMS.
This will make certain your metadata cache is clear so new movies can be scanned and matched.
Ok I followed all the instruction and deleted the cache, refreshed the metadata and then rescanned the library. Unfortunately the newest movies added aren’t showing. Any other suggestions?
