Synology RAM overloaded - what will help?

Okay, I can see how 8 is better than 4 for sure.

I thought you were trying to say 16 would be a bad thing.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking it to the maximum of 16.

The only “danger” is in forgetting it’s only a Celeron CPU with a GeminiLake ASIC (QSV) glued on.

Even though turning off the DLNA server solved the problem, I didn’t stop the shipment of the extra RAM.

Removal of the 4GB and installing the new 8GB went smoothly. The slot that had been empty did not want the 2nd 8GB chip installed, but I was able to convince it eventually.
