So, I just downloaded the most recent version of Plex Media Server to my new Synology DS. I have it connected via ethernet to my Google Wifi and I’m able to play the original media on the Plex client for my MBP, most of which is 1080p or lower.
However, I’ve had buffering so bad on my Apple TV and my Samsung UHD 65" TV Plex apps that the app is completely useless and won’t even play the optimized for TV version at 480p. I have direct play and direct stream both allowed. I’ve also fiddled with the global quality settings and those on a per film basis, and altogether, no luck in remedying it.
Any help in the meantime would be much appreciated, as having paid for a lifetime Plex Pass feels pretty pointless at the moment.
