T-Mobile/Remote Issues

Hello. I was running my plex server just fine from my home computer and watching it remotely while my family and I travel. We had T-Mobile 5g Home internet and Plex worked fine for several months. Then one day T-Mobile changed something and no outside of my network can see my Plex server.

The router can not me accessed to change port forwarding and upon speaking with T-Mobile Tech support their new settings prevent the Plex server from working at all.

So I pay yearly for PIA (Private Internet Access) VPN and have a static IP address through them. I even re did my Plex remote settings with this new static IP address and port number PIA created for me. It will show remote access is good for about 2-3 seconds then refreshes to not being available.

Any thoughts on how to fix this would be amazing.

I would agree. Any help on this issue would be great. It’s been addressed before in other threads, but TMHI has locked down their modem/router and is using Dynamic IP addresses. Also I’ve been told that IPv6 should solve some of this, but can’t find anything definitive.

Can you clarify what you did here exactly?

This is normal. The remote access isn’t really “good” for the first few seconds. The green status is just the status before it does the actual test. It’s like how on some cars the gauges all jump to their highest reading when you first start the engine, and then they drop down to the actual reading after a few seconds.
