Constant issue with remote access

Having too many issues as of late. Can’t access my Plex server remotely. If I reboot the server in Windows, works fine for the day and then has issues the following day. Anyone have this same issue with a resolution? I am on the latest software of everything.

This happens with Samsung SmartTV, AppleTV and iOS.

Is your server assigned a static IP in your network? Sounds like maybe you don’t have that enabled so when your server’s IP changes, the clients can no longer find it.

I have the same issue. I have my IP address for the server fixed.
I did the port forward.

On Unify Dream Machine Router.
internal port :32400
External port: 35678

Is this the right config ?

Tia.

So you have this set to 35678?

And the IP address shown above matches the IP you set for your server?

Immune is definitely set on static. I’ve never done port forwarding though and was never require to before. Has been working great for years. This issue just started working.

Do I need to do the port forwarding?

Does this mean outside your home?

This sounds to me like you’re having trouble inside your home with these devices

Most people refer to remote access for devices they use to connect to Plex outside their home

If this refers to a connection inside your home, port forwarding is not important

Sorry

My internal and External port in router port forwarding is set to 32400
and same port set in Plex server. IP is static.
It works for a day or 2 then suddenly stops. I have to close & reopen plex to get the remote access working again. Very frustrating.

Server running on Windows 11.
Router: Unify Dream Machine

Definitely talking outside the home. Although, I do have similar issues within my home. Just not nearly as often.

@minthos Can you PM me screenshots of that remote access page and your port forwarding rule from your router so I can check they are set properly?

I think I have fixed it. Had to select “both”( TCP, UDP) under Protocol under Unify Dream machine port forward section.
its working as expected now. Will report back if I face issues again.

Thanks for your support.

What was it set to before? You only need TCP enabled.

Hey rebooting router. I had same issue and doing that fixed it
