I’ve got 2 movie libraries - both contains the same movies, but one also contains 4K movies (which I don’t share).
I thought that if you edited a tag on a movie it would show in both libraries (since I thought there was a single entry in the database for the same movie), but that doesn’t appear to be the case?
I think that should be the case (both share the same tags). Perhaps I’m wrong?
Can you share the XML info from both versions? It will show the rating key which is the primary identifier for each. If they’re different, it might explain why they don’t share the same information.
They’ll need to share the same scanner/agent configuration for the information to the same…
It could be that they were initially scanned with different scanner/agent combinations. For example, if a library was converted from the legacy agents to the modern ones. But I’m pretty sure if they have different rating key values, they’re consider different movies.
Yeah I just tried to test it by moving a movie out of the folder, deleting from all libraries (it was actually in 3 different libraries), then moving it back. All 3 gave them a different RatingsKey.
Grrrrr…I’d expect a single entry in the DB for a movie, no matter what library it’s in.
I’ve always had a “Holiday” library, but trying to move those into my normal 2 movie libraries. But they’re not tagged with a Christmas genre so trying to get that added so I can filter by them easily, but going to have to do it in both libraries (unless I do some special scripting).
Figured out a fairly easy way to tag the movies I have at least. I didn’t realize there’s a filter by folder option - and all my Holiday movies have always been in a separate folder, so I could select all of them that way and apply tags. At least I didn’t have to do them one-by-one lol.
