I came across the realization recently that my Apple TV is now used for just two things: Plex and Airplay.
In that vein since I don't download movies from iTunes I think it would be great if I could have the "Movies" app in the Apple TV link directly to my PlexConnect movie library and my "TV" app link directly to my PlexConnect tv library.
As it stands today I have to go through trailers to do anything useful (and it also confuses my non-savvy friends using my tv). I realize I'd be giving up stock Apple functionality but I really don't care.
As far as I am aware no. Its is a built-in appletv.app on the top shelf. You can hijack a different app such as wjs live or imovie theater and even change their icons but it requires a restore and only changes the icon not the name. You can hide the app in parental settings or restrictions depending on the ios version. The link is here to do so:

"Messing with the stock ATV apps where they actually make money is a Really BAD idea.. then they could easily pull the plug on plexconnect altogether ... pls leave those apps alone :ph34r:
