Take Synology back to factory state or go the Docker route?

Yes, it opening on app.plex.tv/desktop using the Safari on the Mac

Do you have an iPhone? We could do a video FaceTime possibly…

Thanks for the screenshot. I don’t know why the FireStick cannot access the server. If the Mac can access it, then the FireStick should be able to access it.

Could we try one more thing - gather a fresh set of server and firestick log files.

  • Stop & restart the Plex Media Server.
  • In the Plex app on the FireStick, to into Settings and enable Network Logging. You’ll see a URL in the bottom right corner of the screen, http://firestick_ip_address:32500/logging.
  • Force quit & restart the Plex app on the FireStick. You’ll see the libraries with yellow triangles.
  • Leave the Plex app open and pull the log files using the URL from the settings page. Save it as a text file.
  • Then pull the Plex server logs, Settings → Troubleshooting.
  • Upload both to the thread.

I’m going to request a Plex employee to look at the logs as well.

Thanks for your patience with all this.

Android…

Any other ideas? I thought I would call Synology and check with them to make sure my server is operating ok.

No problem. I have no idea what it could be.

I think your server is working fine.

If the Mac can access the server via WiFi, then your phone, the FireStick, and other devices should also be able to do so.

Missing something in the logs or configuration. Just not sure what.

I’ve a 4K Max stick and it can access PMS on my DS918+ w/o any problems. It should work for yours too. Frustrating that I can’t figure out why it is not.

Pull the log files when you get a chance. I’m going to be offline for awhile. I’ll check in later.

How do I “force quit” the Plex app on the Fire Stick?

  1. Go to FireStick (not Plex) Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications
  2. Select the Plex app
  3. Force Stop

No need to clear data. If you do so, you will have to login and go through picking libraries, etc again.

Thanks for the server log files.

The errors from the LAN Networks settings are gone, which is good.

They show you playing several movies / tv episodes from Safari and the Mac app.

Unfortunately, the server logs have no entries from the FireStick.

Please post the Android log file from the FireStick when you get a chance. Hopefully they will show something.
