Tautulli for plex

Plex pass user here. Was hoping if someone can help me in installing tautulli. I have my plex media server running on my synology.

  1. can I have tautulli installed on the synology or if not can I run it on a windows machine pointing toward the server?
  2. would I then be able to download the iOS app of tautulli so I can monitor its activities?

I think for Synology it requires Docker, but some of the installation guides can be found here: Installation · Tautulli/Tautulli Wiki · GitHub

This the thread for them here on Plex too: Tautulli - Monitor your Plex Media Server

Just happened to have those handy as I was looking at it recently myself. Maybe they’ll help.

And just to add.
Tautulli doesn’t need to be on the same device or even the same network.
You will still be able to add the mobile app to your iPhone

So can I install tautulli on my windows and have the actual plex server running on the synology and be able to check the activity on iOS app ?

Thanks mate. Do you know if there is a YouTube video tutorial? Not really good at following steps via text. More of a visual guy…

Yes.
The settings to connect the preferred server will come up when you set up tautulli.

In reply to your other reply its extremely simple on Windows. Install the exe and it pretty much walks you through it. Including authorizing with your PMS.
But feel free to ask if you have issues.

Also when you come to install it on your mobile it’s simply a case of scanning a QR code.

Thanks so much fella. I’ll give it a try later this evening hopefully will be easy if not I’ll ask you lol

No problem.

I’ve managed to successfully install it on my synology and up and running on my iPhone. Now, I have have the plex dash, vary app, and tautulli. The vary app I can add widgets. Can this also be done with the tautulli app as I can’t add anything…

Great to hear. I did see your earlier issues however I forgot to mention I’m UK based and ir lt was something like 2AM here.
Glad you managed to get it up and running.
And yeah. PlexDash is a great supplement as is Varys.
Will check on the Widgets as I don’t really use them
