Tautulli - Monitor your Plex Media Server

But you need to specify the image src for email? I’ve been trying to get the image to show when sending email alerts but they never have. Or will just having the checkbox checked do the trick?

@JonnyWong16 said:

There is no tag. It’s just a checkbox.

Ok, one last question. How do I get a Twitter and Gmail email notification that shows the thumbnail of the TV series episode I watched/am watching etc? All I can ever get is the overall series/season poster.

There is no episode thumbnail option. You will have to use a custom script for that.

Hi all,
can anyone help please?
I’ve installed fresh Tautulli on ubuntu 18.04 TLS and seems to be working … sometimes
keep getting same 3 errors over span of few hrs:

  1. Tautulli Config :: Error writing configuration file: [Errno 21] Is a directory: ‘/opt/Tautulli’
  2. Tautulli Database :: Database error: no such column: first_run
  3. Tautulli PlexTV :: PlexTV called, but no token provided.
  4. repeat 1-3 etc

Big thanks!!

@JamminR

Thank you for your help

Was going to give Tautulli a spin, but I’m having issues getting past the initial setup authentication.

I’m running it within Docker, used both the official image and linuxserver’s image with the same issue both times

I’ve changed my password to make sure it was correct, tried using my username and email address.

Still nothing, I tried to ping out within the container but got denied permission.

Here’s my Docker config, the UID and GUID both have wheel and docker access so there should be no issues with permissions.

docker create
–name=tautulli
-v /home/admin/docker/tautulli:/config
-v ‘/docker/plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs’:/logs:ro
-e PGID=1000 -e PUID=1000
-e TZ=America/Chicago
-p 8181:8181
tautulli/tautulli

I’ve also tried this as well https://github.com/Tautulli/Tautulli-Wiki/wiki/Frequently-Asked-Questions#general-q3

Love the Newsletter feature!

But I am having a problem with thumbnails displaying in emailed newsletters. I setup a Cloudinary account and everything is uploaded OK. It seems that the emailed newsletter is just not referencing those images. I only get a generic “View on Plex” for the thumbnail. Tried on 2.14, 2.15, & 2.16, hoping that maybe this was caught and fixed already, but get same results. Is there something I need to do in Cloudinary somewhere or is this a known issue?

Any chance I can access the default newsletter template? I’d like to change the header image only and have very limited knowledge of html. I will absolutely keep the footer that credits (and links to) Tautulli.

I tried locating it through SSH but couldn’t find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if this has already been answered somewhere.

JonnyWong16,

OK, I get it now - “Known problematic clients are the default Mail.app on iOS and some Microsoft Outlook versions.”

So I guess Outlook 2016 is one of those known problematic clients, since I sent it directly to Gmail and it worked via web. My iOS 11.3.1 mail app also worked OK from my Exchange Server on the same email that Outlook 2016 couldn’t display.

I understand that “There isn’t anything that can be done on Tautulli’s part to fix this as it is due to the poor rendering of emails in those clients.” But can you provide any information regarding the root cause of the issue? I mean I get all kinds of HTML emails, and everything else in the world seems to render fine. There has to be something that can help resolve this issue. C’mon it is Outlook after-all (guess that does work both ways LOL)

Looks like your Docker container doesn’t have internet access or is unable to connect to Plex.tv.

CSS background images. You can create your own template without background images.

Yep looks like my server can’t ping plex.tv for some reason, looks like DNS issue on my end. Much thanks.

Got it. Thanks. Will have to play with that when I get some time.

Hopefully at some point you will add a template without them and have a check box to enable/disable the background - for those without the skills to play with the templates.
