Tautulli - Monitor your Plex Media Server

Does the newsletter overlay a “View on Plex” image on top of the poster for the item?

If so, that would explain why when hovering over the poster, I see an app.plex.tv URL.
I will then test in different email clients to see if the behaviour changes on that basis.

You can’t view image sources just by hovering over them. That only tells you the link it goes to when you click on it. You have to view the HTML source of the email.

Hello all,

I have had Tautulli running for a couple of days now and I am not seeing any Library Statistics. It tells me no stats to show. Have I missed a config option to get those stats?

Settings - Plex Media Server - Library refresh interval, and/or refresh at startup.

Thanks for this but my PMS has been up for days, still no stats showing on Tautulli.

When going thru the setting you mentioned above I noticed that Monitor Plex Remote Access option was greyed out. Anyway to enable that?

Thanks,
Steve

Do your libraries show up on the libraries page? Have you selected the libraries for the library statistics under Settings > Homepage?

Ding ding ding…thank you. I missed them at the bottom!

Any thoughts on why the remote access monitor is greyed out?

The orange warning message tells you exactly why it’s disabled.

Unfortunately that is not the case. Remote access is enabled and running:

Does “Verify Server” in Settings - Plex Media Server get a green check?

Looks like the latest Plex Media Server version changed the API response for server settings. I will fix it in the next release.

Ah, that would be why I’ve not seen the issue. I wait weeks/somtimes a month or two to update server.
(which, means I should turn off autoupdate of Tautulli since it will likely break when it updates)

I just reformated and kept my old plexpy folder , reinstalled Tautulli , named the folder Tautulli but as soon as i copy the old Tautulli.db and replace it Tautulli stops working, it wont open so i cant get any errors the CMD windows just flashes that’s it?
it worked good before so im wondering what’s wrong with my db file

Ok, I finally decided to switch over to Tautulli from PlexPy which I had donated to and it’s been running just fine for over a year.

Tautulli installed fine, but now it (unlike PlexPy) just seems to lock up and freezes when running on my Safari browser.

I can’t do anything except closedown Safari and restart it over again, the restarting Tautulli.

I have no idea where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks for any help folks.

Regards,
Doug

Are you doing all this while Tautulli (or PlexPy) is running? (That would be why)
At this point, I’d recommend ONLY keeping your DB and config file.
Shut down Plexpy/Tautulli.
After backing up your config and DB files to somewhere else.
Delete your Tautulli/Plexpy folder entirely.
Do a full clean install.
Then, before starting Tautulli, copy your db and config file back to the newly created Tautulli folder.

for this option:
The number of concurrent streams by a single user for Tautulli to trigger a notification. Minimum 2.

where i can seed this notification?

Set up a notification agent where trigger is concurrent. You can set to go anywhere within the agents list.
I have both an email (that also includes Plex up/down, remote up/down triggers), and also an agent for script, that will kill more than 2 sessions.

Clear this statement up for us.
Is “Tautulli” the python app locking up/stop running, when you visit in Safari browser?

the restarting Tautulli.
That makes it sound like your browser is locking Tautulli in some way?
OR, are you simply closing Safari, then reloading your tautulli page?

If the former (Tautulli.py is actually crashing), provide logs immediately after it happens. Heck, replicate twice.
If the latter and it’s only Safari crashing, you might be able to find something in tautulli logs at same time your browser crashes, but, chances aren’t high.
If only browser crashing, what device? (Mac PC? Ipad? Iphone?) What OS? (Mac OS 10.?.?, IOS 9/10/11?)
What Safari version?
Give more indication if it happens during certain patterns (you click link X, or are on Tautulli home and user (or movie) Y starts, or you perform action Z and …crash…

Though not helpful, I just tried and left Tautulli web page running on my Ipad with IOS (10.whatever highest this Ipad.would go before.EOL for 11) and Safari and have no problems.

(one you are using works, but is old - the newer kill_stream can be used for many different conditions/triggers that Tautulli now includes)

@lepitismak said:

Yes. This is true of any notification agent using the Conditions tab.
Could significantly increase complexity of setup though.

ImportError: No module named requests

“Requests” is a python module, required by PlexPy, needed for older JBOPS scripts.
I’m not sure if Tautulli still needs it, but I know JBOPS does.
Use PIP to install it.
