Hi! I am a plex user for over 2 years now and I have been using plex on my TCL smart tv for over 1 year now. But after the recent updates from plex its not working on my smart tv. It says failed to connect to server. I have tried using insecure connection but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. However its working fine on my windows app and browser app. I have search through a lot of forums but to no avail thus far. If anyone can help me in this regard it would be much appreciated.

I have a Lenovo server with Ubuntu LTE 20.0 and I have an output bandwidth of 100 MB, before 2022, I could remotely watch 4K movies without cuts, I have 2 4K TVs, a samsung 2015 4K whose version of Plex is from 2018 Since the apps are no longer updated due to obsolescence, I have another 55" TCL TV bought in 2020 and it has an Android TV with the latest Plex apk versions from 2022
From the changes that Plex made in this 2021, I can no longer watch movies that are more than 2 GB on my TCL smart tv, but if on the old samsung with the 2018 app, in the case of the TCL it sends me messages of either I don’t have enough internet bandwidth or my server is very slow. I brought the server to the house and connected it to the local network and still in my TCL smart tv the 4K movies freeze using PLEX, I have PLex Pass, and also add the server with DLNA, if I try to watch 4K movies from PLEX , it freezes, but if I USE VLC accessing the Plex server, they work perfectly, if I use the Media Center app, I can also access the PLEX server and 4K movies work fine. Therefore, I deduce that the problem is the PLEX app for android TV, does it work well for anyone? or as they have corrected it, the solution would be to change the server for one with more capacity but the question is, why accessing the server via VLC works perfectly.
